Bristol Black Carers work closely with young people and their families and deliver a trusted, confidential service. We work with young carers to develop confidence, learn new skills, experience new things and reduce isolation whilst giving them a break from their caring responsibilities. The confidential service provided for the young carers is free, so money shouldn’t be an issue. Bristol Black Carers will try and arrange transport for you to and from events if transportation is an issue.
Our youth group meets fortnightly where we do loads of fun actives and workshops. We carry out one to one work, so we can ensure we support young carers and their families the best way we can as well as carrying out advocacy and sign posting. Bristol Black Young Carers are given the opportunity to take part in the Young Carers Voice, where we talk to service providers about the problems we face and how they can help support us. We support young carers to develop skills and opportunities – and give them a break from their caring responsibilities – through community projects, youth groups, trips and events.
Bristol Black Carers come across young people who have a vast amount of caring responsibilities and don’t actually realise they are young carers. If you think you may be a young carer please contact us and we can help you.
