What Your Donations Give to Our Service Users

At Bristol Black Carers, we provide relevant cultural support and services to Caribbean, African and Asian carers in Bristol.

Bristol Black Carers aim is to empower and support young and adult carers. The issues carers face can be very complex and can cross many areas which include health conditions, accessing government/ education/employment services, etc.

We provide respite through the support groups, provide or give access to trips/activities/events. We are always here to listen, support, give advice and information to any carers in need.

Why the community needs us

Within the Caribbean, African and Asian communities most carers do not identify as a carer because it is considered to be a norm to care for family/friend. Bristol Black Carers would like to improve the understanding of the role and responsibilities of carers who are suffering in silence. When a carer contacts us we provide information, advice and support according to their situation/issue. This will help to build a healthier and well supported community which will contribute to reducing isolation.
